Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes with precision, strictly following recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Regulate and monitor temperatures of ovens, grills, broilers, fryers, and other kitchen equipment to ensure food safety and quality.
- Safely manage thawing of frozen foods in refrigeration units, maintaining hygiene standards.
- Ensure consistent portioning and attractive plating of all dishes.
- Maintain accurate food preparation logs and monitor food quality and quantity, reporting any issues promptly.
- Effectively communicate with the team to coordinate support during busy periods and provide updates on specials or surplus ingredients.
- Collaborate with F&B staff to keep them informed about special dishes and menu changes.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and motivating staff, serving as a professional role model.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, weighing, and storing with care.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Test food to ensure proper cooking and quality standards are met.
- Set up and break down workstations, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tools, and equipment according to hygiene protocols.
- Adhere to all safety policies and promptly report hazards or maintenance needs.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of company information.
- Foster a positive team environment through clear, professional communication.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned to support kitchen operations.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a 4- or 5-star hotel or a well-established restaurant.
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of HACCP procedures and food safety standards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler Certification.
- Impeccable professionalism, attention to detail, and customer-centric mindset.
