Job Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, maintain, perform preventative maintenance on, and recommend replacement of tools, appliances and equipment.
Fix plumbing problems such as unclogging drains.
Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings.
Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air to detect and locate leaks.
Review blueprints, building codes, and specifications.
Study building plan and inspect structure in order plan installations.
Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle. Install and maintain pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, and fixtures.
Perform miscellaneous repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
Calibrate all controls, gauges, meters, etc. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves.
Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies as needed.
Maintain inventory and purchase orders log. Inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
Operate power lift.
Complete the life safety checklist, including the fire-pump run test and generator run test.
Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
Braze or solder parts to repair defective joints and leaks.
Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming.
Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions.
Install expansion and control valves, using acetylene torches and wrenches.
Install wiring to connect components to an electric power source.
Mount compressor, condenser, and other components in specified locations on frames, using hand tools and acetylene welding equipment.
Fabricate and assemble structural and functional components of refrigeration system, using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Drill holes and install mounting brackets and hangers into floor and walls of building.
Insulate shells and cabinets of systems.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials
Estimate, order, pick up, deliver, and install materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment in good working condition.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor`s/Diploma in Engineering or Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
5+ years’ experience in the same position or similar role in hotel industry
Ability to multi-task in a busy environment and adhere to hotel Standard Operating Procedures.
Good Knowledge of English Language, both oral and written
Strong working knowledge of hotel kitchen and refrigeration equipment
