Dasoudi Restaurant, located in the vibrant coastal area of Limassol, is expanding its culinary team. We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Cook A’ to help us deliver exceptional Japanese cuisine and elevate our reputation as one of the finest sushi destinations in the area.


Job Description

As a Sushi Cook A’, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail. You will work closely with our kitchen and service team to ensure an outstanding dining experience for our guests.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a rich and diverse sushi menu featuring premium ingredients and raw fish (such as salmon, tuna, unagi).
  • Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri, and sashimi.
  • Select fresh fruits and vegetables (e.g., avocado, mango, carrots) to ensure top-quality presentation and taste.
  • Enhance sushi rolls with traditional ingredients such as ginger, rice vinegar, wasabi, and soy sauce.
  • Manage food preparation activities, including rice cooking and ingredient preparation.
  • Coordinate with wait staff regarding special requests and food allergies.
  • Prepare appetizers, soups, and salads aligned with Japanese cuisine philosophy.
  • Monitor food stock levels and place orders when necessary.
  • Suggest innovative and modern recipes (e.g., sushi burgers and fusion creations).
  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in all kitchen areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workstation at the end of each shift.

Requirements & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef/Sushi Cook or in an Asian restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of sushi varieties and professional sushi-rolling techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and under pressure.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Availability to work during business hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Culinary school certification is considered an advantage.
  • Additional knowledge of continental cuisine will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience in Asian fusion cuisine is highly desirable.
