JOB TITLE: Kitchen Equipment Technician

SCOPE OF JOB

The job holder will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the smooth operation of all kitchen equipment across our outlets. This includes supervising equipment functionality during shifts, assisting outlet managers where needed, and liaising with suppliers or maintenance teams. The role requires strong teamwork, effective communication, and the ability to gain respect from the team to ensure authority is exercised when necessary.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on all kitchen equipment, including cooking appliances, refrigeration, gas, water, and steam systems.
• Respond promptly to repair requests from outlets to minimize downtime.
• Inspect and troubleshoot tools, machinery, and kitchen systems for proper functioning.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and request parts and supplies as needed.
• Assist outlet managers in supervising shifts when required, ensuring smooth operations.
• Provide basic training and guidance to kitchen staff on equipment use and safety procedures.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations.
• Follow all health & safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Collaborate with other engineers and outlets to integrate new systems or upgrades.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Technical knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
• Basic numeracy and organizational skills.
• Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of health & safety and hygiene regulations.
• Fluent in Greek and English.

Level of Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in restaurants or hotels.
• Experience supervising or assisting teams is an advantage.
