Columbia Restaurants - Delivery Driver

SCOPE OF JOB

The scope of this role is to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of goods to our restaurant outlets and customers. This role involves safely operating a delivery vehicle, adhering to traffic and safety regulations, and providing excellent services during the delivery process while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.

Reports to: Purchasing Manager

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods from the central store to designated customer locations while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Interact with customers/colleagues in a courteous and professional manner during the delivery process.
• Prepare Delivery orders as per requisition.
• Load and unload goods onto the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and secure packaging to prevent damage during transportation.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, including checking fuel levels, tire pressure, brakes, and other essential components. Report any vehicle maintenance needs promptly. Responsible for the cleanness and good organization of the vehicle
• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while driving and delivering goods. Practice safe driving habits and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents.
• Communicate effectively with store management, customers, and colleagues to coordinate delivery schedules, address issues, and ensure smooth operations.
• Familiarize yourself with the products being delivered and their specifics.
• Address any delivery-related issues or discrepancies professionally and promptly. Notify store management of any challenges or obstacles that may impact the delivery process.
• Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct.
• Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
• Following and maintaining food safety and health and safety policies and procedures

SPECIFICATIONS

Level of Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and safe driving practices.
