Columbia Restaruants - Warehouse Assistant

SCOPE OF JOB

The scope of this role is to receive and process all incoming stock and materials, filing orders and organizing stock in warehouse.

Reports to: Warehouse Officer

MAIN RESPOSIBILITIES

• Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards. Update inventory records and perform regular stock checks to maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to process orders, pick items from inventory, and pack them for shipping according to established procedures. Ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.
• Maintain a neat and organized warehouse layout, optimizing space utilization and ease of access. Properly label and categorize items to facilitate efficient retrieval and storage.
•  Inspect products for damages, defects, or discrepancies before packaging and shipping. Ensure that all outgoing products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
•  Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and transport goods within the warehouse.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Report any safety concerns or incidents to the Purchasing Manager promptly.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse by participating in regular cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Records the temperature of goods during receiving and storage implementing FIFO procedure.
• Assists in the monthly stock taking.
• Assist in the smooth running of the warehouse operation. 

SPECIFICATIONS

Level of Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory management role is beneficial.

Skills & Knowledge

• Fluent in Greek and English.
• Good knowledge of health & safety, hygiene and licensing regulations
• Basic knowledge of inventory management practices and warehouse operations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Proficiency in using warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols.
