Job Summary:

  • The Pastry Chef is responsible for creating, preparing, and presenting high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods for Casale Panayiotis. This role ensures that all pastry products meet the property’s standards of excellence in taste, presentation, and consistency, enhancing the overall guest dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of pastries, cakes, bread, and desserts according to recipes and hotel standards.
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew menus and engage the interest of customers.
  • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings, and techniques to ensure beautiful and appealing presentation.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all pastry items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Adhere to hotel policies, kitchen procedures, and health & safety regulations.
  • Monitor pastry ingredient inventory and assist with ordering supplies within budget.
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Gain knowledge and full use of the company requisition and stores software.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and assist with checking the quality of materials and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with ordering new supplies, ingredients, and equipment for the pastry section when needed and within budget.
  • Prepare ingredients and handle baking and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Qualifications:

1. Education and Experience:

  • Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a hotel, resort, or high-end restaurant.

2. Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, dessert presentation, and baking science.
  • Creativity and passion for developing new recipes and innovative presentations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and product consistency.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
