POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sushi Cook plays an essential supporting role in the kitchen. They are responsible for basic preparations and daily tasks associated with cuisine preparation by following the instructions given by Senior Chefs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works in an assigned section of an Outlet, ensuring all tasks are completed on time
  • Efficiently follows Senior Chefs instructions with enthusiasm while showing willingness to learn
  • Prepares ingredients for cooking using the correct techniques
  • Prepares working stations and always ensures readiness for Service
  • Maintains work station and equipment clean, organized and tidy at all times
  • Stores items properly with the correct labeling
  • Reports any item shortages to anticipate demands
  • Applies culinary skills to prepare meals, with flavor, ingredients, temperature, presentation and quality consistency with standards and guest expectations
  • Minimizes wastage in order to maintain food cost
  • Maintains and exceeds Food Safety Standards in line with company policy, or as directed by Management
  • Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming
  • Attends daily briefings
  • Maintains positive relations with all staff and departments
  • Adheres to all Company policies and procedures
  • Reports accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to supervisors
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

  • 5 years of relevant experience in Japanese operations will be considered as an advantage

Education

  • High school diploma
  • Culinary diploma 

Skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Good communication in English; Greek or any other language will be considered as a strong advantage
  • Ability to perform repetitious tasks
